The files can be manipulated in a graphics package which supports PSD files, photoshop will handle the files best but there are other packages that can use this file format.
Benefits are , no need to spend time on creating individual layers or masks , files can be used after manipulating to fit a greater number of projects.

The file will then be taken out of CayenneGraphics database and will not be offered for use to any other individual, and the ownership and copyrights will be transferred to the new owner.
